Starting Vehicle:

  • You must give a breath sample before placing keys in ignition.
  • Press green button to turn on unit.
  • Digital screen will read (WARM UP) (PLEASE) (WAIT) (SERV #)
  • Once the screen reads (BLOWNOW)
  • Take in deep breath and then blow steady into mouth piece.
  • As you are blowing, the unit will make a low tone buzz.
  • Continue to blow until the unit gives a single beep.
  • You will then have a short pause, followed by a double beep.
  • Once you hear the double beep you will give a one second hum into the mouth piece, it is important to not blow air when doing the hum.
  • The unit will then read (ANALYZING).
  • Then either (PASS) or (FAIL)
  • Once you receive (PASS) it will then read (START VEHICLE)

Parking Vehicle:

  • Once you shut off your vehicle the unit will read (IGNITION OFF) (OK) (TO UNPLUG).
  • If you decide to disconnect your handset and take it with you do not unplug handset until the screen goes blank and the unit is then powered off.
  • If you decided to leave the unit in the vehicle, place unit in a safe place where direct sun light will not hit the handset.

Random Retest:

  • You will see the first random retest within 5 to 15 minutes after starting vehicle and 15 to 45 minutes for everyone after the first.
  • While driving the screen will read (BLOW NOW) and a countdown clock comes on that starts off at 360 seconds and counts down from there.
  • Take in deep breath and then blow steady into mouth piece.
  • As you are blowing, the unit will make a low tone buzz.
  • Continue to blow until the unit gives a single beep.
  • The unit will then read (ANALYZING).
  • Then either (PASS) or (FAIL)
  • Then the screen will go blank until another retest is required.
  • It is very important to take every retest!
  • If any retests are missed within your service period, your days will drop to -1 and you will have to call in and schedule an early service appointment and will be charged a violation reset fee.

Over Temp:

  • When powering the unit the screen reads (WARMUP) (PLEASE) (WAIT) (OVERTEMP).
  • You will want to press and hold the green button unit the screen reads (RESET)
  • Once you see reset release the green button and then power on unit again and you find the over temp has been cleared.

Fails:

  • When giving a breath sample the screen reads (FAIL) your B.R.A.C. or (Breath Alcohol Content) is within .03 to .05
  • If the screen reads (VIOLATION) your B.R.A.C. is over a .08
  • Any violation fails occur within your service period your days will drop to 6 days and you will have to call and make an early service appointment and will be charged a violation reset fee.

Perm Lock:

  • A perm lock will occur if you allow your days to go past -6 days.
  • If a perm lock occurs you will need to call and schedule an appointment to have your handset reset and will be charged a violation reset fee.
